Who we are
This policy covers Auto Royale Mobile Car Detailing ("Auto Royale", "we", "us"), a mobile car detailing service operating across Southern Ontario, Canada, and the website at autoroyale.ca.
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
| Information | Where it comes from | Why we need it |
|---|---|---|
| Name and phone number | The quote form, or when you call us | To call you back with a price and to reach you about the appointment |
| Postal code, city, or the address where the vehicle is parked | The quote form, or over the phone | To confirm we serve your area and to find the vehicle on the day |
| Vehicle details and anything you tell us about its condition | The quote form, or over the phone | To quote the job accurately and bring the right equipment |
| Call details — the number you called from, the time and length of the call, and which page or ad you came from | Our call-tracking provider, automatically | To route your call to the right local team and to see which advertising actually works |
| Basic web data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and advertising click identifiers | Our website and advertising tools, automatically | To keep the site working and to measure our advertising |
| Photos of your vehicle, before and after | Taken by our technicians on the job | To document the work. We only use a photo publicly if it does not identify you or your vehicle, or if you've agreed to it |
We do not ask for, and do not want, your credit card number, banking details, driver's licence number or any government identification. Payment happens after the job, directly between you and the technician.
Calls
The phone numbers on this site are routed through a call-tracking service. That service logs your number, the time and length of the call, and the page or advertisement that led you to call. If a particular call is being recorded, you will be told at the start of that call and you can ask us not to record it.
How we use your information
- To give you a quote and answer your questions.
- To schedule, carry out and follow up on a detailing appointment.
- To contact you about a job you asked about or booked — by phone, and by text only where you've given us the number for that purpose.
- To understand which of our ads and pages bring in real customers, so we spend less on advertising that doesn't.
- To keep records we're required to keep, and to resolve any dispute about a job.
We do not sell your personal information, rent it, or trade it. We don't add you to a marketing list because you asked for a quote.
Who else sees it
Only the people and services that help us run the business:
- Our technicians and office staff — the person detailing your car needs your name, number and address.
- Independent detailers we occasionally subcontract to — when we do, they receive only what's needed to complete your job, and they are required to keep it confidential and use it for nothing else.
- Our service providers — website hosting, the form service that delivers quote requests to our inbox, our call-tracking provider, and advertising and analytics platforms including Google and Meta. Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of that country.
- Where the law requires it — for example a court order or a valid legal request.
Cookies and advertising
This site uses a small amount of browser storage to keep the page working, and it records advertising click identifiers (such as Google's gclid and Meta's fbclid) when you arrive from an ad. That lets us connect a quote request back to the ad that produced it. It tells us nothing about you beyond the fact that a click became an enquiry.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. Doing so won't stop you from using this site or getting a quote.
How long we keep it
Quote requests that don't turn into a job are kept for up to two years, in case you come back to us. Records of completed jobs are kept for up to seven years, which is what Canadian tax and business record rules expect. Call logs and website analytics are kept for as long as the relevant provider retains them, typically one to two years. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.
Keeping it safe
Quote requests are delivered over an encrypted connection to a password-protected inbox. Access is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we don't keep payment details or identification documents, which is the information most worth stealing.
Your choices
- See what we have. Ask us and we'll tell you what information we hold about you.
- Fix it. If something is wrong, tell us and we'll correct it.
- Have it deleted. Ask and we'll delete your information, except anything we're legally required to keep — invoices, for instance.
- Stop hearing from us. Tell us on the phone or reply STOP to a text and we'll stop contacting you.
We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
Our service is for vehicle owners. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.
